On iOS 11.4.1, Apple continues to upgrade the security features of the iOS operating system against the free utilitying tools.
Apple has released an update to iOS 11.4.1, mainly to fix some security features, restricted access mode USB.
With this new feature, Apple wants to prevent the use of free utilitying tools to infiltrate devices running the iOS operating system via the Lightning port.
iOS 11.4.1 adds USB Restricted Mode
Users can access the Settings, Face and Password security, and see a new tool added. By default, this feature will not work. If you want to use, users can manually activate.
With this new feature, after your iPhone or iPad is locked for about an hour, iOS will block the connection to external accessories via the connection port. This is to prevent the use of tools like GrayKey to unlock the iPhone.
With this new feature, iOS devices will block connections to external accessories after about 1 hour of locking.
This new feature shows that Apple is continuing to enhance the privacy of its users. However, it also makes it difficult for law enforcement agencies to access the content on crime iPhone.
"We are constantly enhancing security on Apple products to help customers fight off hackers and hackers into their personal data," Apple said in a statement. "We respect law enforcement agencies and we design security features not to make them difficult."
The update also fixes some minor bugs on the operating system.
Earlier in 2016, Apple declined to assist the FBI in unlocking a suspect's iPhone during the San Bernardino terrorist attacks. This has raised a lot of controversy.
Shortly thereafter, the FBI announced they had opened the device without Apple's help. Apple continues to upgrade new features to enhance the security of iOS.
