I'm sure most of the technicians here have dealt with the dreaded "Qualcomm CrashDump Mode" error on OnePlus devices, especially on the OnePlus 7, 7T, 8, and 9 series.
A lot of customers bring these phones in thinking it's just a simple software brick. Sometimes, flashing the device with the MSM Download Tool temporarily revives the phone, but we all know it usually goes back to the CrashDump mode screen after a few days of heavy usage or gaming.
From my experience in the shop, this is almost always a hardware issue caused by dry solder joints under the CPU or RAM, very similar to the Poco motherboard issues.
I’ve had a pretty good success rate by completely removing the CPU/RAM package and reballing it. However, the OnePlus boards feel a bit more sensitive to heat compared to standard Samsung boards.

- Do you guys even bother trying software fixes (like flashing specific boot images or fastboot ROMs) before opening the shield, or do you jump straight to CPU reballing when you see the CrashDump screen?
- What temperature profile are you using for separating the RAM from the CPU on the Snapdragon 855/865 chipsets without causing any permanent damage?
